AudioBlog
Funny how things all happen at the same time to tell me something.
First I had a look at David Weiner's VideoBlog entry, replying to criticism of webloggers at the the Democrat Convention. Video blogging is an interesting medium and set me thinking about the differences between writing a blog and doing a video or sound blog. I've never seen one before.
Then I found myself trialling out my own voice as background to some training material I'm creating with Qarbon's Viewlets, which then got me back to trying the voice recognition software which sits on Windows XP and integrates with most of my PC applications.
And then I see (hear!) my first genuine AudioBlog, which Suw Charman is trying out for a week via AudioBlog.com. Just one problem.....she sounds just like my first wife, which is freaking me out a bit!!
Maybe I've been away from Blighty for so long now, that all Poms sound the same!!
I'm not an Auditory type. I've never listened to radio plays because I lack the imagination to work out what's going on! My voice is flat and Northern, and the older I get the more I notice people yawning when I'm talking to/at them, and you have to sit and listen in a serial way to someone drone on, because you can't scan what they're saying, unlike with the written word. Having said that, some of my most moving and memorable moments have been hearing people on the radio inspire me, so if I found someone I really like the sound of, I'd be addicted. The Chris Evans weblog!!
I don't think this Audio thing is for me, but coincidences are pointing me to it.
Tony: your voice is not boring, and certainly not when you're talking about the things that are important to you.

A cheaper way is to simply use Audacity and put the .mp3 files on Geocities and then link to them on your blog. Easy and free.
Look at my post. Its in swedish though.
