You don't have to Podcatch to listen to MP3s

I think Mick and Cameron are missing a trick in explaining Podcasting.
If they want to attract even more people then don't confuse people with "Podcasting".
Just explain that if they have an MP3 players they can download the shows.
They can either download it themselves by clicking on the MP3 link, or use a bit of software to automatically download the MP3s.  It is the automatic downloading that makes it "Podcasting" but you don't need an iPod or this automatic software, you just need to click on the link yourself which will start to download the MP3.

I think there is a lot of confusion with what Podcasting is, and whilst the idea of Podcasting has  suddenly made MP3 broadcasting take off, you can very easily pick and choose by hand which MP3s you want to listen to, instead of using Podcasting software to download the lot.
There are very few people's shows I want to automatically download all of.
I wish there were more!

Fighting Talk
Adam Curry
G'Day World
Tablet PC Show

What amazes me is that the Dawn and Drew show (woman sticking fingers up her fanny), is so popular, or was the one show I listened to an exception?  Perhaps it's an acquired taste!

Just wait til the BBC starts to open up more shows.  What if they opened up their whole archives of say Desert Island Discs, as MP3s instead of just streaming shows.
Wow, that would be something.
No doubt there are licensing problems with playing music.
