We've moved our clock back today, here in Melbourne. It's daylight saving. I detest daylight saving.
Why do we do it? Can anyone give a rational answer that isn't set in mythology?
Can anyone give a benefit as to why we do it?
Does anyone enjoy changing the clocks twice a year?
The only benefit I can see, is that most people love the extra hours of daylight you get in the summer time. Meanwhile, we have to suffer the reduced hours of daylight in the winter time, as if it isn't depressing enough already.
Simple answer. Freeze the time for summer hours, or move forward another hour and freeze it. Then at least most of us can have some daylight in the evening.
It's about time something was done about this. I have a cunning plan.
Opposition parties in Australia, UK, and USA, can use this as their main
campaigning platform, so instead of campaigning against, in Michael
Howard's case, gypsies and travellers (the last politically correct group you can speak ill of (shame on you Michael Howard),
or trying to be even worse than the government in power, a "freeze the
daylight saving" campaign could be a decisive vote winner!!
And we could actually see the difference, after we've voted for you (ha ha).
p.s Oh, and another thing. This Daylight Saving thing is
clearly a Northern Hemisphere conspiracy followed by Southern
Hemisphere sheep like Australia, because how come we only get 5 months
of sunlight from November to April??
p.p.s I'm depressed!
Good one dude. I'm co-president of the
"Walkerville Anti-Daylight Saving Association" ---WADSA--- members aprox 15.
Walkerville is a very very small burg. All of us are Presidents and I can speak for all. What is this crap about 2006 in Vic??
Love to hear from like minded groups, time to snap their clocks!
