England v Ecuador (first half)

It's so dull.  There is something missing, and the team reflects Sven Goran Ericsson's personality.
There's no running off the ball, there's nothing direct, no flair, no oomph.
The England players are diving at every opportunity, and being protected by the Belgian ref.

Tactically, the idea of playing Rooney up front is criminal.
Assuming Rooney is England's best player, then he should be getting most of the ball.
But playing far up front, and not dropping back, means he gets crumbs.
Either he needs to drop back, or Crouch should be on, with Rooney playing deeper.
Only Rooney and Cole can actually run with the ball.
