Credit where credit is due. Microsoft have issued an update for Office 2007, which significantly improves the speed of Outlook 2007, which is just as well, because it ran like a dog (a very slow dog!).
This is the kind of thing you hope and pray for with Microsoft, that whatever is wrong with Office 2007, they will put right. On this one they have. I don't index my Outlook for Microsoft Instant Search, because I already use Google, so I don't think it's about the indexing, but something seems to have worked to improve the speed, so far.
Outlook 2007 now seems to load quicker, fill the preview pane quicker, run quicker, and it's now working how it should, making my life easier!
I picked up the link from listening to TWiT Windows Weekly with Paul Thurrott and Leo Laporte.
